Stonier KBS Chardonnay 2025

95 POINTS

Jane Faulkner - Halliday Wine Companion

This is the most restrained KBS to date and yet there’s volume and flavour aplenty across the palate. Waxy, spicy with dabs of sweet oak, lemon and a touch of mandarin. The softish palate unfurls with some creaminess and nuttiness, then the fine acidity lifts this to a long finish.

Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front

KBS Chardonnay is the longest-standing single vineyard wine in the Stonier range. It’s been made since 2005. Seriously good wine. It’s the intensity and the length that does it. White peach, citrus, nectarine and chalk characters come lightly sprinkled with cedar, sweet spices, lemongrass and clove-like notes. It’s coherent, it’s powerful and it’s complex. The power of the fruit continues through the finish, which is penetratingly long. This is an elite wine, with a long future ahead.
