Product Highlights
"This is fresh, complex and powerful... an unbelievable wine."
100 Points | Erin Larkin, Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The Standish Wine Co produces some of the most highly regarded, in-demand and collectible Shiraz in Australia. For years, collectors have debated which wine sits at the top of the range.
Lamella? The Standish? The Relic?
The 2024 Schubert Theorem may have settled the argument.
Awarded a perfect 100 points by Erin Larkin for Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, this is the highest-scoring wine of the release and one of the most celebrated Australian wines of the vintage.
What makes Schubert Theorem different is that it has always played by its own rules. While the rest of the range relies solely on oak maturation, Dan Standish incorporates concrete egg into the élevage here, preserving freshness, purity and aromatic detail in a way that feels completely unique within the lineup.
Erin Larkin described it as "the eye of a storm, a center of calm and clarity in what is otherwise a maelstrom of dense flavor and texture." And that perfectly captures the magic of this wine.
Sourced from the Helbig Family Vineyard on Roennfeldt Road in Marananga, the Schubert Theorem combines immense concentration and power with an almost effortless sense of balance. Blue fruits, licorice, rose petals and pomegranate unfold across the palate, while the tannins feel seamlessly woven through the fruit. It's dense without being heavy. Powerful without being forced. And despite all its intensity, it remains the most aromatic and distinctive wine in the range.
The Schubert Theorem has always attracted a devoted following. After this perfect score, demand is likely to reach another level entirely.
Take a bow, Dan Standish.
