(roughly 60% pinot noir, 25% pinot meunier and 15% chardonnay; L122738): Dark pink. Ripe cherry and dark berries on the deeply perfumed nose, with rose oil and orange pith notes adding complexity. Plush, open-knit raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are braced by tangy acidity and pick up a peppery nuance with air. Shows good energy as well as heft and finishes spicy and long, with a lingering floral quality and an echo of red berries.

(L0910543022): Bright pink. Intense red berry aromas are complicated by notes of floral oils, allspice and orange zest. Lively and incisive on entry, then richer in the mid-palate, with good depth and focus to its strawberry and bitter cherry flavors. The floral element repeats on the spicy, nervy, very long finish. I like this Champagne's blend of depth and vivacity.
