Brothers Blend, launched in 2010, represents the Merlet family's inaugural venture into cognac production under their own label, following 160 years of distilling for renowned houses. Gilles began crafting and bottling Crème de Cassis and fruit liqueurs in the 1980s, with Pierre and Luc joining the family business in 2006 and 2008, respectively, igniting the decision to embark on their own bottled cognac. In homage to this historic collaboration, they christened it Brothers Blend. As their debut cognac expression, the Merlet trio aimed to craft a style reflective of their production philosophy. Brothers Blend emerges as an elegant and fruit-forward cognac, characterized by soft, delicate wood notes from aging predominantly in seasoned barrels. It comprises a blend of eaux-de-vie aged a minimum of 4 years up to 10 years, primarily sourced from the Fins Bois cru, complemented by approximately one-fifth from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne. Its refined profile renders it highly versatile, equally enjoyable neat or as a premium base for cocktails. Tasting Notes: Nose: The nose exudes elegance and vitality, with aromas of cooked apricot, quince, delicate white flowers, cinnamon, and vanilla. Palate: On the palate, Merlet Brothers Blend reveals delicate notes of white fruits, notably peach and apricot, complemented by a subtle wood essence. It delivers a supple and balanced cognac with a pleasing lingering aftertaste.

A VSOP Cognac made from a blend of brandies aged four to 12 years, this easy sipper has a honey hue, with warm maple and dried apricot aromas. Light and smooth on the palate, look for more bold maple, honey and vanilla, building to a warm, clove-accented finish. Sip or mix.
Winemakers Notes
The Merlet family has been elaborating cognac for merchant houses since 1850. Five generations and over 160 years of experience as distillers have led the family to produce under their own name. Gilles Merlet actually started in the 70’s the cultivation of blackcurrants to diversify the distillery’s activities, and bottled fruit liqueurs first under his own label. It is in 2010, with his sons Pierre and Luc, that they began producing cognac under their brand, alongside their liqueurs. The family owns its own vineyard and distillery, therefore controls its wine sourcing, distillation, ageing, blending and bottling.
