Medium to deep red colour with a tawny tint and some yellow in the rim. The bouquet reveals floral, rose-bush elements as well as some age, and good muscat fruit. The palate is intense and lively with bright acidity, the mid-palate leaner than some and showing a lot of raisined fruit character - on both nose and palate. Very sweet - a real 'crowd pleaser'.

PALATE: Palate of rose petals, fruit cake and raisons, fresh and lively with youthful primary fruit characters evident. Well balanced palate which is clean and fresh with a drying finish.
Winemakers Note
The solera has been the recipient of barrels from the Rare Muscat solera, emptied but not washed so influence coming from remaining wine in the bottom of the barrels; not as much influence imparted as in the Old Vine Muscadelle situation. Tawny colour with a slight reddish/ brown hue on the edge.
