Deep ruby red in colour, Montvalley’s Shiraz is developing wonderful aromas of herbs with hints of blackberries, black current, plum and eucalypts. It is an example of the finer style of medium weight Hunter Shiraz, where chalky tannins provide a good balance with the sweet spicy fruit character of cinnamon and cloves. The finish is long and lasting. It needs time in the bottle and will reward cellaring for five to 10 years.

This unique vineyard high in the Mount View subregion of the Brokenback Ranges. This means it ripens about 2 weeks after the rest of the valley, and this is the secret sauce!! This time allows grapes to ripen fully and creates wines of more intensity. This 2024 Shiraz is another great example. Medium bodied, intense red berries, smooth tannins, great length of flavour. If you are looking for something different to Barossa and Mclaren Shiraz, then give this a go. It will NOT disappoint.
