Tasting Notes

The combination of a wet winter and mild ripening season can be considered perfect for dry grown vines in Blewitt Springs. The result is a Shiraz that is perfumed and delicate with layers on layers of blue fruits. While fruit is at the fore, an unexpected lightness on the palate is delicately framed by ripe, resolved tannins, subtle spice and a graphite edge. As pretty as ever.

Product Highlights

In just a few short vintages, the MMAD line up of McLaren Vale wines have fast become some of the most pristine and detailed flagshipi wines in the country. This Shiraz might just the best yet from the team. A gentle vintage, perfumed fruit, and a style of Shiraz more akin to the lighter, more ethereal wines of the Rhone Valley, albeit with a touch of wholebunch fruit adding a whisp of garrigue, and smoked meats.

Small bunches. Intense fruit. This is McLaren Vale Shiraz teeter-tottering on a tightrope, sliding between power and grace. Black cherry, dark cassis, rose petals, pressed violets, and bitter cacao make up the juicy palate framed by long, mineral tannins. A mix of premo vessels and seasoned oak gives it some serious structure. It's bright, and cellar-worthy for sure.
