Old-vine cabernet sauvignon planted in 1959, '64 and '73; matured 24 months in French oak, 36% new. Ripe blackberry, blueberry and black cherry with hints of baking spices, anise, nutty oak, olive tapenade, roasting meats, meadow flowers and crushed rocks. Deep and plush in black fruits, with plenty of chew to the sandy tannins and a long crème-de-cassis flow on the exit.

The 2023 Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon is leafy and fresh, with dried herbs, tapenade, cherry and cassis through the finish. The tannins are brambly and loosely knit, and the finish is long. This is very good. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
