An attractive array of bright fruits and comfort foods, such as banana bread, baked apples, lime tart, cashew nuts and toasty notes. The palate is smooth and flavoursome, with a creamy Greek yoghurt texture and zesty acidity. Nectarine and lime flavours blend with toasty French oak bringing everything together in a tight, complex package.

It’s no secret Geoff Merrill’s a Halliday 5-Star winery, and the Barrel Select has to be one of the crown jewels of the entire range. You could even say it tastes every bit as good as his famous Reserve Chardonnay (wink wink, nudge nudge).

The 2024 release blends McLaren Vale’s plush, fruit-laden generosity with Coonawarra’s freshness and lift, creating a Chardonnay that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

Golden stone fruit, toasty oak, and that creamy, buttery richness bringing it all together – a reminder of why we fell in love with Aussie Chardonnay in the first place.
