Winemakers Notes
Established in Mercurey in 2016, in the heart of Burgundy's Cote Chalonnaise, Domaine Laurent Dufouleur is a young domaine built on more than 400 years of Burgundian family winemaking heritage. The Dufouleur name has been connected with the wine industry since the 12th century, with documented family ties to the Cote de Nuits dating back to 1596. Today, the Domaine encompasses 17 hectares of vineyards, including five Premier Cru sites: four Mercurey Premier Cru climats and one Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru. The estate cultivates Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Aligote across the diverse terroirs of Burgundy. Laurent Dufouleur places a strong emphasis on the character of each vineyard, using parcel-by-parcel vinification to allow every cuvee to express its individual terroir and vintage. The Domaine combines traditional Burgundian know-how with a modern commitment to sustainable viticulture and is HVE Level 3 certified. Based in Mercurey, Domaine Laurent Dufouleur produces a focused collection of Burgundy wines that express the elegance, freshness and individuality of the Cote Chalonnaise and neighbouring appellations. Its philosophy is captured in the Domaine's expression "Burgundy in heritage" - a combination of family tradition, terroir and a contemporary approach to winemaking.
