Dark black-red with some bright purple hues. A Grenache-led aromaticity of blackberry, boiled red lolly, liquorice, cherry and plum, with Shiraz's earthy, dusty, peppery character and Mataro's leafiness and rose petal fragrance. The palate is restrained and balanced, with present but soft, light tannins and an acid structure suited to easy drinking, finishing with a subtle expression of fruit depth.

Dave Brookes - Halliday Wine Companion
The strong '24 release sees a blend of 58/22/20% grenache/shiraz/mataro matured for 12 months in seasoned French oak. Bright crimson with a wave of ripe satsuma plum, red cherry and blueberry fruits with some cranberry lift and hints of Medina spice, dried citrus rind, meadow flowers, Chinese barbecue shop, turned earth, cold tea, anise and chocolate-dipped raspberries. Medium weighted with a freshness to its travel, pure, savoury fruit, fine, sandy tannins and a real easy-drinking style.

Sam Kim - Wine Orbit
Complex and fragrant, the bouquet shows aromas of dark berry, game, tar, tapenade, and potpourri, followed by a wonderfully weighted palate offering rich fruit intensity, supple texture, and fine-grained tannins, making it flavoursome and delightfully appealing.

Winemakers Notes
A field blend of 58% Grenache, 22% Shiraz and 20% Mataro from adjoining old-vine blocks off Seppeltsfield Road in the Barossa. Hand-picked bunches were whole-bunch fermented together in open-top fermenters with ambient yeast and hand-plunged for 14 days, before basket-pressing into old French oak barriques and maturing for a further 12 months in the same oak, bottled with minimal intervention. Alcohol is 14%.
