A blend of 94/6% shiraz/riesling; whole bunch, 16 months' maturation. That riesling component is something only gleaned from the label, not the glass, but there’s no doubt it's no whim, given the thoughtfulness at this address. It opens the profile, adds finer phenolics and likely some acidity to manage the drop from the whole-bunch ferment. Charming wine, either way, red and tart black berries, sweet baking spices, turned earth, some subtle florals, blueberry and ground star anise. Medium-weighted, supple, equipped with finely grainy tannins and a resounding length. This is an excellent release. Give it some air.
