It's bold and sturdy, showing blackcurrant, dried flower, cured meat, thyme, and toasted almond notes, leading to a flavoursome palate delivering juicy fruit intensity together with fleshy texture and well-integrated tannins. Harmonious and fruit-forward with a lingering, robust finish.

Ken Gargett - Winepilot

Solo Malbec is always interesting to taste as it can be a difficult wine to do well. Here, it succeeds. The colour is a dark maroon and the aromatics a mix of earthy notes, black fruits, plums, coffee grinds and a character reminiscent of dusty roads. Good freshness and energy throughout and a lingering finish. It may not exhibit the obvious intensity that we sometimes see with this variety, but that does not mean it is not a thoroughly enjoyable drink. It should remain so for the next six to eight years.

Jane Faulkner - Halliday Wine Companion

It’s a good malbec, rich and ripe but not so big it knocks you out. There’s a foundation of dark fruit spiced to the max with ironstone, some charcuterie and cedary oak. It is fuller-bodied, yet the tannins are supple and persuasive, and the acidity is cleansing.
