2025 Mystery Barossa Carignan Blend Deal No. 5853

2025 Mystery Barossa Carignan Blend Deal No. 5853 is made from old-vine Barossa fruit and built for warm-weather drinking. It's light, energetic and a little funky, and it's the wine I reach for when I want red but don't want anything heavy.

Tasting Notes

Fresh, light-to-medium bodied Barossa red showing lifted aromas of wild cherry and raspberry with hints of dried herbs and spice. The palate is juicy and bright, with soft tannins, subtle earthiness and a lively, refreshing finish that makes it very easy to drink.

Not much Magic

"In general, I really enjoy "lighter" reds and looked forward to sampling this blend. I found it more than just light - actually rather featureless. The coulour was bland and the scent was more or less nonexistent. Very little fruit to taste. I'm going to experiment and put a bottle away for six months - who knows what might happen?"
