The fruit comes from 1978-planted dry-grown vines, and was fermented on skins in ceramic eggs and oak barrels. An orange wine from a very high-quality source. A pretty, orange-ish colour in the glass, perhaps a bit rosé-esque. Very floral scents of potpourri, dried rose petals, lychee, dried ginger and white pepper. The palate is cinched with pepper-dusted, chalky tannins, some rosehip tea, dried citrus peel, mandarin juice and rosewater finish. A delightful, restrained skin-fermented wine of a gourmand experience.

A delight to drink here. Super spicy perfume, lots of florals, sweet lime, candied ginger, lychee and peach. The palate has a similar array of characters, with light, tight and chalky texture, some gentle honeyed notes in the mix, but mostly lychee juice and ginger again. Very true to the variety, and done with some restraint.
