A dark purple-red colour with no shortage of varietal aromas and flavours. Packed with blackberries, mulberries and cassis, all spiced to the max, with some menthol and a slight bitter herb/green walnut note on the finish. And, yes, somewhat oaky, but hopefully that will fade in time. Fuller bodied with ripe and supple tannins. There’s a freshness throughout, and while it’s approachable now, it’ll reward more with some bottle age.
