A total of seven batches, some whole bunch, fermentation in oak and stainless steel, three weeks on skins, pressed to barrel, mlf, 12 months' maturation in French oak. A ripe and juicy shiraz boasting the Heathcote signature, and stunning, purple hues, ferrous earthy characters and bold black fruits. Spices swirl with licorice notes around ripe fruit, and tannins are fine and sturdy to close. La Niña weather conditions have brought a touch of refined class and restraint, but Red Claw remains, as ever, one smart, stylish and affordable Heathcote shiraz of note.
