This is really something for the vintage, with sliced apricots, orange peel, dried flowers and flint. It’s medium-bodied with nutty and floral undertones to the flavorful finish of caramel apples. Hints of matchstick and smoke at the end.

The 2023 North Canterbury Sauvignon + leads with peppermint tea, green apples, an ashy splay of white spice and crushed soft leaf herbs. In the mouth, the wine is imbued with prodigious acidity and loads of personality and concentration. By no means a straightforward flavor spectrum, this moves away from the tropical fruit characters we so often see in New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc and moves into asphalt, lean citrus notes and tightly coiled acidity. It's angular, in its way, which you'll either like or not. I do. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
