50% was matured in old oak for two months, the other 50% seeing stainless steel only. This is a wine of presence and detail but it finishes taut, which makes me think that its best days are a while ahead. Green apple, lots of spice and gravel characters, thistles, citrus, woodsmoke and green mango. It’s a powerful wine, sure-footed, textural and charismatic. It’s enough to turn you onto chenin. Indeed, it’s enough to make you want to cellar it. This is a wine of clear excellence.

Smells strongly of lantana when first poured, then that gives way to preserved lemon, baked apple, beeswax and fresh herbs. It’s so lively and refreshing, thanks to the acidity, with just a slip of texture. A highly enjoyable, zesty drink with or without food.
