Tasting Notes

Milk chocolate and fresh raspberry, allspice and leather, blue fruits ruminating underneath. A plumose veil of tannin and some cacao bitterness that pulls through the ends.

Product Highlights

This inaugural Syrah from the historic Bouverie block (est. 1968) is an impressive debut - velvety, refined, and deeply expressive of place. Paul’s approach brings freshness and structure to the plush fruit, with a gentle touch of spice and savoury cacao tones. Made in super small volumes, it’s a soulful wine with presence, polish, and a story worth telling again and again.

Elegant Syrah

"This plays a bit like a Rhône Syrah, albeit less meaty and more highly perfumed. To be honest, excepting the class features I didn’t see a lot of the critics descriptors. It’s quite an elegant drink with lavender, sage (?) eucalyptus, blue fruits, and some juicy star fruit. I really enjoyed this wine, so I’ve bought more for the cellar."
