The top white from Benjamin Leroux displaces peerless elegance and deft balance, managing to keep the powerful substance and concentration lively, lovely and fresh. The aromas of ripe nectarine and quince are touched with acacia flower, cream and spice, and the acidity is given a boost by a suggestion of pleasant bitterness (beaux amers) that sustains it through a lingering finish. The key, according to Leroux, was his picking window, which started on 29 August. This wine is still in barrel and will probably get 22 months of maturation before it is bottled. Very impressive.

Neal Martin - Vinous

The 2023 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet with a touch of menthol. The Corton-Charlemagne has a little more complexity. The palate is lightly honeyed on the entry with fine acidity, although it doesn't quite kick on as I wish it would. It is a little conservative. Points: 90-92
