100% shiraz from Koonunga and Ebenezer, matured 24 months in French oak, 50% new. Classic Barossa here. Ironstone-flecked blackberry, satsuma plum and black cherry fruits, fruitcake spice, licorice, dark chocolate, turned earth, choc-mint and pan juices. Plush with melt-in-the-mouth tannins and a twang of citrus acidity on the back end.

Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front

Teusner’s Albert Shiraz has been in excellent form of late and this release is up there too. It’s awash with juicy raspberry and redcurrant, choc-mint and violet-like characters, the latter really falling into a ribald display of assorted floral flavours and aromas in the most enticing of ways. There’s a cola-and-campari note to this wine too which adds yet more to the deliciousness of this offering. Tannin is both well set and well-framed, and the wine’s length of flavour is excellent. All up, there’s a lot to love here.

A well-composed, driven and lively shiraz, offering aromas of dark plums, dried thyme and cured meat. Medium-bodied with velvety tannins. Fleshy purple fruit on the palate with a juicy, fruity and vivid development. Tactile, with a delicious finish.

The 2022 Shiraz Albert is plump and fleshy with open-knit plum and blackberry aromas topped by touches of grated chocolate. Heavy coal fire notes are supported by edgy oak tannins which need a little time to settle.
