The 2022 Kiedrich Klosterberg Riesling Trocken was fermented with natural yeasts and kept on the original lees in large oak casks until the bottling. The bouquet is deep, intense and very elegant as well as complex and clearly characterized by its phyllite soils with a reddish loess loam mixture. On the palate this is a supple, elegant, mouth-filling and rich Riesling with ripe, mineral acidity and a long, saline, savory and complex finish. It is long and intense and provided with great aging potential. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in August 2023.

The 2022 Kiedrich Klosterberg Riesling Trocken (AP 28 23) is clear and dense yet also fine on the aromatic nose, with bright fruit and tart, yeasty and slate notes. Intense, elegant and quite powerful on the palate, this is a quite pure, refined, persistently saline, savory and well-structured yet somewhat bitter Klosterberg Riesling that was been bottled a few days before I tasted it in May 2023. This wine might improve with bottle age. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork.

On the nose: candied lemon peel, slate and yeasty savouriness. The palate still seems introverted, but tidy in proportions, with rather ripe acidity, but powerful mineral extract, very good length, exceptional taut elegance.
