Tasting Notes

The Kinnear was the ship which brought Johann Stein to Australia on 23rd April, 1838, so it is appropriate that this be the name of our flagship wine. The Kinnear is an icon of our family, a symbol of the great hardship and struggle of the past, and a celebration of our lives today. The 2021 Robert Stein 'Kinnear' is just the 7th release of our flagship wine. A blend of Shiraz (93%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (7%) which were selected from the best rows in our best blocks. The fruit was picked by hand and wild fermented in small open vatswith 30% whole berries. The wine was matured for 15onths in 50% French Oak Hogsheads and only the best two barrelswere chosen.
