An impressively presented Cabernet expressing many of the distinctive characters of Heathcote. The aromas of ironstone and blackcurrant merge seamlessly creating a powerful initial engagement. The palate is still firm with a tight core of fine firmish tannins and well managed oak. Yet, it retains balance and focus as it drives through to a long finish. Bright and vibrant. Excellent wine of character.

Campbell Mattinson - Halliday Wine Companion

Single-vineyard cabernet sauvignon from Colbinabbin in the north of the Heathcote region. This is a majestic cabernet, full bodied and full fruited but with good light and shade. It tastes of blackcurrant and tobacco leaf, mint and cedar, and while the fruit feels plush, the finish is firm. This will age handsomely.

Tom Kline - Winepilot

From the Colbinabbin Estate vineyard. Sweet ripe plum and blackberry make way for black olive, gumleaf, mocha and leather. The palate is full bodied, with immediate chewy oak tannins wrapping around notes mirroring the nose with black fruits at the fore and the additions of dark chocolate and ground coffee. The tannins are grainy and stacked, pulling the palate into line to a mocha infused finish. This achieves an air of elegance whilst still being broad shouldered and full bodied. It works.
