Mid-weighted and powerful, with juiciness growing in steam across the long, penetrative finish. This is a very sophisticated bordeaux blend, reminiscent of the better wines of WA, as much as those from the Graves.

We already acknowledge the quality of Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc as a stand-alone wine. What does the addition of Semillon – transforming Sauvignon Blanc into a classic Bordeaux blend – do? Well, it does a nice job. Sweet scented in spring blossom with vibrant herbals to the fore – tarragon, ginger, sage, dill – it’s a lively, fresh introduction. To taste, the obvious herbaceousness present on the bouquet brings a real zesty tang to the palate. That impressive burst joins a grapefruit pith dryness with marked acidity finishing chalky dry. Looks like the Adelaide Hills is taking on Margaret River at its own game.
