Product Highlights

Who is the man behind the man behind the man?

If you're Wolf Blass, the mastermind behind a legacy of bold, monumental Australian wines, then the man behind the man (or is that Wolf?) is Chris Hatcher – known as "Hatch" to friends and family.

Now stepping out of the Treasury Wine Estates limelight, Hatch has forged his own path, creating an eponymous label that champions the rich terroir of McLaren Vale.

This ‘Vesey’ Shiraz is more than just a towering expression of old-vine pedigree – it carries a hidden story behind its name.

It pays tribute to Hatch’s great-grandfather, Alf Vesey, who began his winemaking career at Penfolds in 1883. Over an extraordinary 69 years, he spent 47 as Master Winemaker, mentoring none other than Max Schubert – the visionary behind Grange – in both winemaking and the fine art of blending. A true testament to generational talent, deep family roots, and, of course, exceptional fruit.

Plenty of producers offer top-tier McLaren Vale Shiraz at double or even triple the price. But for those in the know – those who seek the real makers behind the label – a bottle of Hatch is always the right choice.
