Very unique personality as it ages, it develops a soil taste that is reminiscent of the smell of gunflint or smoke. Palate: Medium bodied 1er Cru, intense and elegant, filled with black berries and red berries. Very fine tannins, spicy peppery taste, beautiful minerality and sense of place with a generous earthy and savory finish.
Winemakers Notes
About the wine: 70 years old vines, 10,000 vines per hectare. An average of 1,200 bottles are produced each year. The grapes are hand harvested, sorted and destemmed, traditional vinification with natural yeasts fermentation, 10 days cold maceration. 14 days cuvaison. Aging for 12 months in old French oak barrels (1 to 3 years old barrel, cooper: Rousseau) Bottled with no fining and no filtration.
