The 2022 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru contains around 50% whole bunches (due to a lot of millerandage) and 30% new oak. It has a poised bouquet with black cherries, raspberry, wet clay and potpourri scents that unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with edgy tannins, quite firm and saline, with dark berry fruit, white pepper and clove. The finish is persistent with good sapidity on the aftertaste. Very classy. Mortet's 2022 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is pretty and demonstrative, bursting with aromas of plums, cherries, sweet red berries, petals and spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with an enveloping core of fruit and melting tannins, it concludes with a mouthwatering finish. Points: 92-94
