Product Highlights
This high-scoring, gold medal-winning 2021 Mystery Grampians Shiraz comes from a pioneering Victorian producer that helped put cool-climate Shiraz on the global map.
It’s a multi-Trophy and multi-Gold Medal-winning winery, home to one of Australia’s most prized Shiraz. Its flagship icon has held a place in the Langton’s Classification for more than two decades, while the winery itself has maintained a 5-Red-Star Halliday rating for more than 15 consecutive years.
You know the name.
There’s a fair chance you’ve already got bottles from this producer in your cellar. And it may well be one of the wineries that made you fall in love with Shiraz in the first place.
In the world of online Mystery deals, this producer holds almost folklore-like status. One of the originals. The first Mystery wine ‘unicorn’, if you like.
We probably shouldn’t say much more.
What we can tell you is that this is a beautifully mature Grampians Shiraz, grown and made in Victoria by an Australian wine industry icon.
Expect heady aromas of red and dark cherries, raspberry, spice, white pepper and herbal notes. The palate brings very fine tannins, beautifully integrated French oak and a savoury complexity that carries through to a long, elegant finish. The flavours just keep going.
It has that classic combination of richness, refinement and power you’d expect from a wine with this kind of provenance and some seriously impressive stablemates.
And the critics agree:
**95 points - Sarah Ahmed, Decanter**
**94 points - Wine Enthusiast**
**94 points - Halliday Wine Companion**
**94 points - Ray Jordan, Winepilot**
**93 points - Gary Walsh**
A seriously good Grampians Shiraz with pedigree to burn - and a Mystery wine with a bit of history behind it.
