Product Highlights

If you know the Barossa like the back of your hand, you’ll know the legacy behind this sensational brand.

It’s a keeper of old vines. A single-vineyard Shiraz specialist. A regular in Halliday’s 99-point club. This isn’t just a winery on the rise - it’s edging toward the top of the pile.

And this release, at this price, might just redraw the battle lines. It could make you rethink everything you thought you knew about wine deals. Right now, it’s a buyer’s market in the Barossa - and this is the hottest property on the street. A just-announced 96 points from Halliday’s Wine Companion is the blackberry and cherry compote on top of the pudding.

If you like your Shiraz full-throttle and full of flavour, this 96-point stunner could be your new go-to. Sourced from a historic family vineyard in Rowland Flat, this mystery bottle is bursting with character. Ken Gargett didn’t hold back: “Everything about this wine just screams big, bold, beautiful…” And he’s not wrong.

With silky tannins, juicy acidity and more depth than a late-night chat over a second glass, it’s built to impress now or reward a bit of patience. Dave Brookes from Halliday Wine Companion calls it “lush, full-bodied and flowing with crème-de-cassis fruit,” wrapped in powdery tannins and plenty of polish.

We just call it a no brainer. Tell your friends. Tell your brother in law. Tell the neighbours. This ones about to spread like wild-fire.

2021 Mystery Barossa Shiraz Deal No. 75

"Great drop, well credentialed winery - straight to the cellar to rest."

Lovely shiraz!

"Great quality wine with a balanced flavour of dark berries and oak. As usual, a Barossa shiraz hardly disappoints!"

Renata P. (5/5)

2021 Barossa Season

"The 2021 wine season in the Barossa Valley was exceptional, as were most other areas of South Australia. I have cellared and tried earlier vintages of this excellent Shiraz, and I have not been disappointed. Highly recommended."

Rod S. (5/5)

A good wine, extremely smooth

"A good wine, extremely smooth but lacking middle palate. Dunno if it's worth even its mystery dozen price is excessive and its rrp is ludicrously over the top. I'm actually drinking it now with a superb eye fillet steak and Bearnaise sauce and it's not that much better than my every day shiraz tipple that costs me less than $6 per btle! I think that my palate is likely aging faster than me. It is a smooth drop but not worth its asking price. Sorry."

John C. (3/5)

Disappointing mystery

"Was a mystery wine, so fair play - but this wasn’t the wine I was expecting. The deal number had been reused and I didn’t pay close enough attention. Only bought one bottle so no big drama… ended up with a fairly generic wine that I wouldn’t normally buy. Hits and misses."

Mike C. (3/5)

Fantastic wine

"Superb tasting shiraz at absolutely bargain pricing. Wonderful aroma and range of flavours. You can't go wrong with this selection."
