Winemakers Note

The estate The history of Château Lynch Moussas goes back to 1610, when Domaine de Moussas-Bages belonged to the Jehan family, who were wine merchants and owners of several estates. However, since 1919, it has been intimately linked to that of the Castéja family. Ranked as a Pauillac Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification, Château Lynch-Moussas has been one of the jewels of the family. Passed down to his son Émile, and then by him to his daughter Chantal and his son Philippe, the estate has benefited from the attention of each generation of the Castéja family, who have cared for, developed, modernised and enhanced this Grand Cru d’Excellence. With a vineyard covering 62 hectares (153 acres) in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, Château Lynch-Moussas produces grapes of the finest quality. It is adjacent to plots belonging to a certain number of other Grands Crus Classés, such as Château Latour, Château Lynch-Bages, Château Pichon-Longueville Baron, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste and of course Château Batailley. The 2021 vintage Philippe Castéja tells you about this vintage
