Bethany Creek ‘21 Shiraz
"This is a very good Shiraz! Wish I’d bought more at the time. As cheap as chips too."
Established in 1981 by fifth-generation winemakers Geoff and Robert Schrapel, and now headed by Geoff’s daughter Tania, Bethany Creek represents one of the oldest Barossa families still producing wines in the region to this day. They've also been awarded a coveted 5-Star Halliday rating, and have a reputation for producing some of the region's most powerful and long-lived wines (much of their estate vineyard fruit goes in Grange!). Say the name 'Bethany' in the Barossa, and you'll be treated with countless stories of their incredible legacy and indispensable part of the local community.
So how are we offering such a wine at this price? It’s simple really. This wine was destined for a customer overseas but the order fell through. The winery then calls us up and offers a deal too good to refuse! Classic Barossa Shiraz, from a big-name producer, at a price rarely seen for this level of quality, how could we say no? The only catch - you might notice the labels haven't been updated with the latest refresh. The juice in the bottle, however, remains absolutely top-notch for this legendary winery.
A marvellous opportunity this, and one anyone with even a remote interest in Barossa Shiraz should not miss out on.
