The 2020 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Riserva Classico Salmariano displays wonderful clarity and precision, with a delicate blend of wildflowers, crushed apples and white smoke offset by a pleasurable hint of chamomile. The palate is pure elegance. It's silky-smooth and nearly oily in feel, with ripe orchard fruits contrasted by an onset of savory spire toward the close. The 2022 leaves a reverberation of tension through the finish, tapering off long and youthfully inward as a tart lemon rind concentration creates a lovely punctuation to the experience.
