From marno-calcaire soils, the 2020 Riesling Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim shows clear, bright and elegant fruit that is intense in a delicate way and reveals concentrated apricot aromas intertwined with hazelnut blossoms. Rich, dense and savory on the palate, this is a substantial, saline and zesty Riesling with intense, ripe fruit, lots of extract and a powerful, warming finish. This generous, balanced and age-worthy Riesling was bottled with 13.9% stated alcohol. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.
