Tasting Notes

Deep Crimson red with ruby hue Nose: Lifted bouquet of plum and black cherry fruit mesh seamlessly with savoury notes of cedar, coffee and earth Palate: A strong core of juicy blackberry fruit is well supported with integrated accents of anise, green plum and menthol. The flavours are dense, persistent and coat the mouth. Mocha and dark chocolate notes add a generosity to the palate that will grow with time. Fine textural tannins massage the gums, carry the flavour and give this wine an enviable longevity. Style A full bodied red wine with supple tannins and dark fruit flavours. Delicious to consume now and will continue to improve with age. By 2030 it is expected to be close to its peak, but it could easily go another five years after that, (or maybe longer depending on your taste and how good your cellar is). This wine that is truly worthy of its icon status, so open this on a special occasion. It would pair beautifully with a range of high-quality meat dishes such as Beef Wellington, Fillet Mignon or the classic Steak Diane. Rich pasta dishes, hearty stews or a quality cheese platter would also work well. Enjoy…
