Aromatics: Very expressive, with notes of earthiness and complex oak spices. Palate: Power and vibrancy, incredible expression of Pinot Noir from Sancerre. A darker medium bodied red with plenty of flesh, black fruits, spices and earthiness. Pure and generous, a must taste!
How was it made?
Historically, the Sancerre area was planted mostly with red grapes including Pinot Noir. Pinot vines are now rare in the area, with Sancerre rouge are hard to find. Massal vines sit on clay and limestone terroir, handpicked when ripe. Vinification includes wholebunch, punching down and pumping over. Aged in French oak barrel. A low intervention wine.
