Sourced from a single block on the vineyard in the northwest corner of the Barossa Valley where the vines are grown on a very shallow red/brown topsoil layer over an alkaline subsoil. The vineyard sits at an elevation of approximately 325m and has a gentle North West aspect that is perfectly suited to the East-West row orientation resulting in some of the first harvested Shiraz each year in the Valley. All this combines to create wines of great structure, power, and minerality.

Earthy, smoky, gravelly nose, with hints of cured meats and gunflint, intriguing and complex. Robust and very dark on the palate, plush and powerful, mouthcoating density of fruit, that is ripe and textural. A substantial wine with longevity and presence.

Angus Hughson - Winepilot
Made with fruit from near Grenock, this is your brooding, punchy, no holds barred Barossan with muscular and powerful aromas of liquorice, tar and baked earth with sweet oak in good support. The palate is then defined by its plushness and opulence with grainy tannins providing a much needed firmness and backbone though to a long finish. A little disjointed now, this will get better with time in the bottle.
