The 2018 Pipeclay Terrace Single Vineyard Pinot Noir is savory, dense and muscular, with wild cherry, sweet roasted meats, some ground coffee beans/husk, Szechuan peppercorn and fresh tanned leather. Raw cocoa and black tea emerge through the finish. The warm vintage is clear in this wine, ditto the alcohol through the finish, but it holds well in the style of the wine, and the tannin is densely packed, pulling it all across the finish line. It's super stylized, but it's of the place too. Big wine. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
