Tasting Notes

Based on 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, its dense purple hue is followed by an incredible, full-bodied monster of a wine that, despite massive amounts of fruit, tannins, and extract, still stays weightless and ethereal, with incredible purity. Loaded with notions of crème de cassis, spring flowers, tobacco, violets, charcoal, and cedar pencil, it's extraordinarily concentrated, flawlessly balanced, and has a finish that won't quit.

Product Highlights

There are wines for weekdays. There are wines for celebrations. Annd then there are wines that you only share with the loyalest of friends. Château Léoville-Poyferré is such a wine. Part of the original Léoville domain established in 1963, Château Léoville-Poyferré is the superb second growth wine of the 1855 classification that wine lovers still tightly venerate. One of the most lavish, opulent and modern styles of Saint Julien from the most consistent Médoc communes, it's no wonder collectors invest their dollars in this smallest of the Medoc Appellations. This stock comes straight from the Château, so your questions are answered when it comes to the source of origin. The elegance of Saint Julien is expressed here in Château Léoville-Poyferré 2018. Didier Cuvelier compares the 2018 to his 2010 and talks of ‘freshness with power;. The maturation lies in 80% new oak and sets the wine up for decades of peaceful resting in your cellar.
