2017 Radford Dale Syrah

Sourced from two granite-derived vineyards in Stellenbosch, one a 27-year-old block on decomposed 'Koffie Klip' granite. Grapes were hand-picked and hand-sorted, then cold-soaked for three days, with 30% fermented as whole bunches in an open-top fermenter. Fermentation occurred naturally with no added yeast using a submerged cap method, and the wine was barrel-matured for around 18 months, undergoing malolactic fermentation in barrel, before settling and bottling without fining or filtration. Alcohol is 13.5%.
