Opaque ruby. Cherry pit, blackberry, woodsmoke, vanilla, succulent herbs and pipe tobacco on the perfumed nose. Palate-coating black and blue fruit flavors show a smooth blend of power and energy. A floral pastille flourish emerges with air and carries through the long, youthfully tannic and appealingly sweet finish, which features hints of vanilla, mocha and baking spices.

Deepish red colour with a tint of purple. The bouquet has the trademark leafy raspberry lift of this varietal, with a hint of cedar, while the palate is tight and firm, elegant and intense, and it has more in common with St-Émilion than the Loire. Elegant, medium to full-bodied. A very tidy wine.
