Lodge Hill is a fair way up at 480 metres ASL. As a young wine, often shows a fair bit of asefoetida like stink, or perhaps you may think on fenugreek or powdered ginger. Either way, have a sniff and see what you think. Then you’re into some lavender perfume, lime and juicy lemon. It’s crunchy and very tasty – has a distinct lavender mouth perfume – sweet lime and ginger spices, chalky almost grainy feel, and a pretty long and satisfying finish. Rugged charm with good drinkability. Very easy to like.

It's again crisp, bright and delicate but lively in the mouth, with refreshing acidity and dryness, and citrusy flavours in abundance. A streamlined, cool-grown style of riesling with real panache.

Pale yellow. Dried citrus fruits, pear skin and succulent herbs on the nose and in the mouth. Dry and chewy in texture, with a deeper melon quality emerging on the back half. Finishes smooth and spicy, with good cling and an echo of bitter lemon pith.
