From the flagship Médoc estate of Bordeaux negociant Dourthe, this wine is impressive, ripe and ready to age well. The wood aging still shows slightly but that is already compensated for by the ripe black-currant fruits from the 66% Cabernet Sauvignon and the generous texture. Drink this wine from 2023. Read more

Black fruit but also some chocolate and spices on the nose. This is quite a rich and fleshy wine that’s built on a bigger scale than most of the wines of this appellation. The finish is simultaneously rich and dry. Drink in 2019.

The 2014 Belgrave is laced with the essence of gravel, black cherry, smoke, cured meats and incense. Dark, powerful and brooding, the 2014 possesses serious depth, intensity and personality. Drink this bold, hearty Haut-Médoc over the next decade.

Boasting dark fruits and firm tannins, this wine has a forward personality filled with smoke, tobacco, black cherry, earth and cassis. 89-91 Pts

Neal Martin - Wine Advocate

The 2014 Belgrave, which has been owned by Dourthe since 1979, has a backward, cedar and woodland-scented bouquet with hints of cold stone percolating through the black fruit with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, well integrated oak and a sense of harmony and composure towards the finish that just needs to lose a little nascent hardness. This is a well-made Belgrave to enjoy over the next decade.

James Molesworth - Wine Spectator

Ripe and fresh, with a solid beam of raspberry and cassis fruit that streams through, carried by light but persistent structure and backed by hints of anise and juniper. Solid. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot. Drink now through 2020. 17,000 cases made.
