Not shy, with charcoal and bitter cocoa notes, accented by plenty of tobacco details. The core of dark plum, currant paste and fig flavors pulls all the elements together through the finish. A frankly muscular style that is both ambitious and surprisingly successful in this vintage.

A subtle and refined Evangile with delicate plum, sandalwood, lavender and violet aromas and flavors. Medium body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. A little hard now, but just starting to open up.

This is very agreeable, with raspberry, light vanilla and chocolate character. Medium body with fresh acidity and a clean finish. Very delicious and fun. Delicate. 27 hectoliters per hectare, rather than the usual 35. 87% merlot and 13% cabernet franc; it shows a little more of the latter than normal. Points: 90-91
