Château Giscours: A Unique Estate Surrounded by a Thriving and Pristine Ecosystem While the earliest historical records of Château Giscours trace back to the 14th century, its true transformation began in 1552 when Pierre de Lhomme, a prosperous Bordeaux draper, acquired the aristocratic "Guyscoutz" house. He established an expansive estate and planted the first vines, setting the stage for centuries of continuous evolution. In 1995, Eric Albada Jelgersma, a wine enthusiast and art collector, purchased the property, embarked on vineyard restructuring, and renovated the estate's facilities. Today, his children, with the assistance of Alexander Van Beek, oversee this illustrious 3rd Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification of Margaux. Giscours stands out with its breathtaking grandeur. As a self-contained living entity, the estate offers an unparalleled experience within an unspoiled natural setting.
