1. About the competition

1.1. These Terms and Conditions govern The Wine Collective 80th Birthday Win $15670 of Wine Game of Skill competition (Competition).

1.2. The Competition is conducted by the Promoter identified above.

1.3. By entering the Competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1.4. The Competition is intended to be a game of skill. Entries will be assessed against the judging criteria set out in these Terms and Conditions. The winner will be selected on merit, and no random draw will be used to determine the winner.

2. Competition period

2.1. The Competition opens at 13/10/2026 at 12:00 AM AEDT and closes at 25/10/2026 at 11:59 PM AEDT (Competition Period).

2.2. All times stated in these Terms and Conditions refer to Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) or Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), as applicable in New South Wales.

2.3. Entries submitted outside the Competition Period will not be accepted.

2.4. The Promoter is not responsible for late, lost, incomplete, corrupted or incorrectly submitted entries, or for technical issues that prevent an entry from being received.

3. Eligibility

3.1. Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 years or older who satisfy the purchase and entry requirements in these Terms and Conditions.

3.2. Entrants must be legally entitled to purchase the products specified in the Competition.

3.3. Employees of the Promoter, its participating agencies and suppliers directly involved in administering the Competition, and their immediate family members, are ineligible to enter.

3.4. Residents of the Northern Territory are ineligible to enter, or win.

3.5. The Promoter may request proof of identity, age, residency and purchase before accepting an entry or awarding a prize.

3.6. The Promoter may disqualify an entrant who does not meet the eligibility requirements or who provides false or misleading information.

4. Purchase requirement

4.1. To enter the Competition, an eligible customer must make a purchase from the promoters website or via the Personal Wine Advisor team during the Competition Period.

4.2. The required purchase must be made at the normal retail price applicable to the transaction, subject to any discounts ordinarily available to the customer.

4.3. To submit an eligible entry, the entrant must:

a. complete the qualifying purchase described in clause 4.1;

b. visit www.thewinecollective.com.au/80thgiveaway or use the specified entry method;

c. provide the information requested on the entry form, including their name and contact details;

d. submit an original written response of up to 50 words, inclusive, to the question:

“What's the greatest wine experience you've ever had?”

e. submit the entry before the Competition closes.

4.4. Each eligible customer is entitled to a single entry into the Competition. If multiple entries are submitted, this first entry made by the eligible customer will be the only valid entry into the Competition.

4.5. Proof of purchase must be retained and supplied on request. A qualifying purchase does not guarantee that an entry will win.

4.6. If a qualifying purchase is cancelled, refunded or reversed, the associated entry may be deemed ineligible, subject to applicable law.

4.7. No separate entry fee applies. The purchase requirement and any other material entry conditions will be clearly disclosed in the Competition advertising before purchase.

5. Entry requirements

5.1. Each response must be original, written by the entrant and submitted in English.

5.2. Each response must contain up to 50 words, inclusive. The Promoter's reasonable word-count determination will apply.

5.3. Entries must directly address the Competition question and describe the entrant's own wine-related experience.

5.4. Entries must not:

a. infringe another person's intellectual property, privacy or other legal rights;

b. contain unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, obscene or offensive material;

c. contain misleading information or impersonate another person;

d. have been copied from another entrant, a published source or an AI-generated response submitted as the entrant's own original personal experience.

5.5. The Promoter may reject an entry that does not comply with these requirements.

5.6. Entries must be submitted through the specified entry method. Entries submitted through other channels will not be accepted unless expressly authorised by the Promoter.

6. Judging and selection of the winner

6.1. This is a game of skill. Entries will be judged by a panel of 3 judges appointed by the Promoter.

6.2. Judging will take place on Friday, 30th October 2026 at 10 Allen Place Wetherill Park, NSW 2164.

6.3. Each eligible entry will be assessed against the following criteria, for a maximum score of 100 points:

  • Originality and creativity — 30 points: How distinctive, imaginative and personal the response is.

  • Detail and descriptive quality — 30 points: How effectively the entrant communicates the experience through specific details, atmosphere and sensory description.

  • Storytelling and emotional impact — 25 points: How engaging, coherent and memorable the story is.

  • Relevance to the question — 15 points: How directly and thoughtfully the response answers the question about the entrant's greatest wine experience.

6.4. Judges will independently assess entries against the published criteria and assign scores. The Promoter may consolidate the judges' scores to determine each entry's final score.

6.5. The eligible entry with the highest final score will be selected as the winner.

6.6. If two or more entries receive the same highest score, the tied entries will be assessed again by the judging panel against the same published criteria. The panel will select the entry that best satisfies those criteria. No random draw or random tie-breaker will be used.

6.7. The judges' decision will be final, subject to applicable law. The Promoter will retain appropriate judging records to document how the winner was selected.

6.8. The Promoter may verify an entry's eligibility and request clarification or supporting information before confirming the winner.

7. Prize

7.1. The Competition prize is a total of 12 wines.

7.2. The total advertised prize value is AUD $15,670 inclusive of GST.

7.3. The prize includes one bottle of each of the following products:

7.4. The prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash, except where required by law or expressly permitted by the Promoter.

7.5. If the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons beyond the Promoter's reasonable control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value where permitted by law.

7.6. Any conditions imposed by prize suppliers must be disclosed to the winner. The winner is responsible for any costs not expressly included in the prize.

7.7. If the prize includes alcohol, it may only be supplied to a person legally entitled to receive it. All applicable liquor laws and delivery restrictions apply.

8. Winner notification and prize claim

8.1. The winner will be notified by email and phone call on or about Monday, 9th November 2026.

8.2. The winner may also be announced at www.thewinecollective.com.au/pages/terms-conditions-promotions-giveaways.

8.3. The winner must respond to the Promoter and claim the prize by Monday, 16th November 2026.

8.4. Before awarding the prize, the Promoter may require proof of identity, age, residency, qualifying purchase and compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

8.5. If the selected winner is ineligible, cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts, fails to claim the prize by the stated deadline or does not comply with these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may disqualify that entrant.

8.6. If a replacement winner is required, the Promoter will reassess the remaining eligible entries against the same judging criteria and select the next-highest-ranked eligible entry. No random draw will be used.

8.7. Any replacement winner will be notified by email and phone call within 7 calendar days of selection.

9. Privacy

9.1. The Promoter will collect personal information to administer the Competition, verify eligibility, judge entries, contact the winner and award the prize.

9.2. Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Promoter's privacy policy, available at https://www.thewinecollective.com.au/policies/privacy-policy, and applicable privacy laws.

9.3. The Promoter may disclose relevant personal information to service providers and prize suppliers where reasonably necessary to administer the Competition.

9.4. Entry into the Competition does not automatically subscribe an entrant to marketing communications. Any marketing subscription must be handled separately and in accordance with applicable consent and privacy requirements.

10. Use of entries

10.1. Entrants retain ownership of the intellectual property rights in their original entries.

10.2. By entering, each entrant grants the Promoter a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce and display their entry for the purposes of administering, judging and announcing the Competition.

10.3. If the Promoter wishes to use an entry for broader advertising, promotional or marketing purposes, it will obtain any additional permission required from the entrant before doing so.

10.4. The Promoter may edit an entry for spelling, grammar or length only with the entrant's permission, and must not materially alter the meaning of the entry.

11. Disqualification and competition integrity

11.1. The Promoter may disqualify an entrant if it reasonably believes that the entrant has breached these Terms and Conditions, manipulated the Competition, submitted plagiarised material or engaged in fraudulent or misleading conduct.

11.2. The Promoter may verify entries and purchases and may reject entries that are incomplete, illegible, duplicated where prohibited or otherwise invalid.

11.3. The Promoter will not use random selection, a random number generator or a random draw to select the winner or resolve a tie.

11.4. The Promoter will not change the judging criteria after the Competition opens, except where required by law or necessary to address an unforeseen issue, and then only to the extent legally permitted.

12. Changes, cancellation and liability

12.1. The Promoter intends to conduct the Competition as described in these Terms and Conditions.

12.2. If circumstances beyond the Promoter's reasonable control make it necessary to suspend, modify or cancel the Competition, the Promoter may do so only to the extent permitted by law and will take reasonable steps to notify entrants of any material changes.

12.3. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

12.4. Subject to clause 12.3, the Promoter is not responsible for loss arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including technical failures, network outages or third-party service interruptions that affect entry submission.

13. Responsible alcohol marketing

13.1. The Competition must be promoted and conducted responsibly and in accordance with applicable NSW liquor laws and advertising requirements.

13.2. The Competition does not require entrants to consume alcohol as part of their entry, and entries will not be judged on the amount of alcohol consumed.

13.3. All alcohol-related prize fulfilment is subject to applicable age restrictions, liquor laws and delivery requirements.

14. General

14.1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

14.2. If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

14.3. The Promoter's decision-making and administration of the Competition will be conducted consistently with these Terms and Conditions and applicable law.
