James Suckling

A transparent and floral wine with aromas of red cherries, violets, licorice and cherry pits. Light-bodied and super fresh, with firm, chalky yet ripe tannins and savory floral length.

The 2024 Chianti Classico is a classy, polished wine. Aromatic, silky and beautifully persistent, the 2024 is so expressive. Crushed flowers, red/purplish fruit, lavender, cinnamon and new leather build as this delicate Chianti Classico shows off its considerable allure.

Monica Larner - Robert Parker Wine Advocate

A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Colorino, the Barone Ricasoli 2024 Chianti Classico Brolio is simple and transparent, living up to the profoundly food-friendly reputation of the category. Dark cherry, blackcurrant, crushed rose and easy spice shape this accessible red. I particularly appreciate these entry-level wines in the cooler 2024 vintage. Production is an ample 500,000 bottles.

Michaela Morris - Decanter

One of Chianti Classico’s most historic estates, Ricasoli has steadily risen from its nadir last century thanks to the unwavering guidance of 32nd-generation Francesco Ricasoli. The future looks even brighter now that his daughter Sofia has joined him. Among my best value picks for 2024, Brolio conveys a beautiful sense of authenticity. Pure alpine strawberry, orange blossom and tilled earth greet the nose. Lightweight and discreetly concentrated, it nevertheless delivers pleasing flavours of tart redcurrant and lilac. Vibrantly backlit and properly framed with a distinct firmness.
