Nick Farr is the second generation of Farr’s to enter into winemaking. He follows in the footsteps of his world renowned winemaker father, Gary Farr (ex-Bannockburn), who has supported him 110% with his own label, Farr Rising.
The Winemaker
After graduating from agricultural collage and completing vintages in France, USA and Australia, Nick released his first wine in 2001. Since then, he has gone from strength to strength receiving rave reviews for his wines made from Mornington and Geelong fruit.
Wine Style
The wines are not mainstream and venture into elegant, perfumed, savoury territory. He produces cool climate wines made primarily from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz and likes them to reflect the region, the vineyard and wines he likes to drink himself. His Geelong Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are both low yielding, single vineyard wines that particularly speak of their ancient river origins in the Moorabool Valley.
