Product Highlights

Sam Kim scored this 97 points, then added something rarer. He reckons it will be at its best from 2030 right through to 2047. That’s a Clare Valley Riesling you can buy by the dozen and drink for two decades. The fruit comes from mature vines in the southern part of the valley. A warm 2025 season kept yields very low, so the grapes were concentrated but still bright and lively. The making is deliberately simple. Grapes were picked in the cool of the morning, lightly crushed and pressed. Only the free-run juice, the purest part of the pressing, went into this wine. That purity is what you taste. Expect green apple, lime cordial and lemon sorbet, with white blossom and a mineral edge. It’s dry and tangy, tightly focused and mouthwatering, with a long, sleek finish. Sam Kim called its clarity scintillating, and we think that’s the right word. Here’s how we’d play it. Open a few this summer while it’s all zip and citrus. Then hide six somewhere dark and check back in 2030, when Sam Kim reckons it really gets going.
